Description
-
This crossbow trap originates from China and is dated to have been made sometime before 1913. It features a bamboo stock that has been hollowed out, while the upper surface has a raised line that extends across the length of the stock. Sticking out the left side of the stock are three small wooden pegs. The butt end of the stock has a wooden piece in the shape of a V that passes through a hole. The wooden piece is fixed to a twisted string that ties around two of the wooden pegs on the left side of the stock, and the bottom of the stock has two square holes. The prod of the crossbow is made from eight pieces of bamboo sticks layered on top of each other in ascending order of length. The original string is intact and is made from twisted plant fiber.
