Description
-
This crossbow originates from India and is dated to have been made likely before 1874. It features a wooden stock that is ornately decorated on its upper surface with a series of metal strips in a trapezoid shape; one of the metal strips has fallen off but is retained with the crossbow. Located on top of the middle section of the stock is an ivory inlay that has an indent to hold the string of the crossbow. Above the inlay, there are what appear to be four dots in a diamond shape. The prod is made of wood and passes through the upper middle portion of the stock.
