Description
-
The small crossbow has a snap stock made of straight-grained, brown fruit wood with a bottle butt. On the left side of the butt there is a cheek piece, the edges of which are decorated with finely carved tendrils. Tendrils are also carved on the neck of the butt. A slipcase, which can be secured with a steel spring, is located on the right side of the butt. The integrated compartment contains three lead balls, each with a diameter of 6.5 millimeters. The slipcase is also decorated with carved tendrils on the outside. The wooden ball track attachment consists of a lower and an upper part. The lower part is composed of a groove carved into the stock and inlaid with bone. The upper part is similarly designed. It is carved into the wooden attachment, which is attached to the top of the stock with three screws. The key lock is connected to a German set trigger, and the protective guard extends far into the space below the stock. All lock parts are bare. A stirrup is riveted to the stock in front of the prod. The wooden attachment has a carved groove at the front in which a laterally adjustable front sight was once mounted. The blackened prod is wedged in the prod hole with a piece of wood; the yoke hole behind it has no function. The string is missing.
