The walnut stock is straight and tapers from the lock towards the butt end of the stock. The cheek piece is on the left side of the butt. The top of the stock is completely covered in bone and decorated with sharply engraved motifs including fruit, scrolls, and foliage. The top of the stock is flanked on both sides by a stepped pattern; part of the bone inlay is missing at the back. Small plates decorated in the same manner are embedded on the underside. The letters "C. v. St." are engraved on the upper front plate, which is additionally secured with two bone nails. The lower front plate is missing. Both sides of the stock are decorated at the top and bottom by strips of bone engraved with a scale pattern. On the left side of the stock is an inlaid coat of arms (a branch/tree piece in the shield with a crest); the coat of arms on the right side is no longer identifiable. A butt cap made of green horn is attached with two screws. Part of the bone inlay is missing and has been supplemented with light-colored putty. The lock is a single-axle nut with a safety lever for the trigger bar. The nut is made of ivory, and the steel fitting is secured with a screw. Behind the prod, a reinforcing rivet with a circular set head penetrates the stock; the bolt rest is made of ivory. A rotating bolt holder made of bent sheet metal with a filed rear sight is located behind the nut. The binding, made of coarse, dark brown material, is very irregularly knotted; it dispenses with the O-wrap and holds the massive binding block and the blackened prod firmly connected to the stock. Remnants of a protective braid hang from the prod, and the string is missing.
