Description
-
A slurbow is a type of crossbow which can shoot either bolts or pellet shot because of a unique design feature. This design feature is a detachable upper barrier which, when attached to the stock, forms a sort of barrel. A thin gap remains along the sides of this barrel, allowing the bowstring to operate freely. The shot is propelled down this barrel by the bowstring.
At the tip of this slurbow, there is a small ring, likely a suspension ring. The stock and the detachable upper part are made of wood. The prod is made of wrought iron. Bindings secure the prod to the stock. The stock is decorated bone inlay in the shapes of rinceaux (stylized curling vegetation), leaves, and birds. There is also some ebony wood inlay. Other metal detailing is in iron. The trigger system is a double set trigger. There is a trigger guard. The wooden butt is lightly carved and also has decorative inlay.
