Description
-
At the tip of the crossbow, there is a small ring and a forked metal sight. Both are made of metal. The prod and stock are made of wrought iron. The bowstring is made of hemp, but since it is the wrong kind of bowstring for this crossbow, it is likely a later replacement. According to the auction house, the spanning device within the crossbow has an image stamped onto it: the profile of a bird above the letters “HSB.” The faceted wooden butt is typical of kugelschneppers. It bears an oval medallion made of bone. However, the wood has damage from being eaten by worms.
