Description
-
At the tip of this crossbow, there is a pyramidal spike with a metal tip.
Then there is a forked sight. The vertical spokes of the forked sight have some decorative horizontal ridges. The prod is iron and has signs of rust. Notably, there is a stamp on top of the prod. The stamp is the image of a five-pointed star with a circle at its center, and the whole thing is enclosed within a circle. The prod still has its original bowstring and the bowstring still has its two wooden support sticks typically found in pellet crossbow bowstrings.
Bow irons secure the prod to the stock. The stock is made of walnut wood. The stock takes on a concave curve downwards, before coming back up into a straight form. At this point, there is an axle where the hook for the bowstring once was. It is difficult to tell in the photos whether the hook is still present. The metal pieces connecting this axle to the stock are beautifully decorated with a diamond shape in the center and scrollwork and other decoration around it. In the same area, there is a foldable arched sight. Farther down the stock, there is a large scrollwork carving protruding. The rest of the stock is plain until it ends in a knob or pommel.
The trigger lever is gorgeously decorated. The corner of it has been etched with swirls, there are decorative ridges, and the lever ends in a small knob. Even the underside of the trigger lever is beautifully etched with designs.
