Description
-
This 19th-century miniature crossbow features a cylindrical iron stock that tapers toward the front. Along the narrow front portion is a bolt groove. At the sides of the stock are iron rods that twist, possibly to give the impression of rope. On the upper surface of the crossbow is a lever mechanism for releasing the bowstring. The prod of the crossbow is made of iron and stringed with an old rope of plant fiber.
